Standards

Following are some of the benchmarks our programs aim to achieve taken from NJ State and national standards in Science, Math, ELA and History/Social Studies. These standards promote the skills and concepts required for college and career readiness in multiple disciplines.


 

NJ State Standards

HISTORY/SOCIAL STUDIES, GRADE 6-8

Integrate visual information (e.g., in charts, graphs, photographs, videos, or maps) with other information in print and digital texts.

6.1.12.D.8.a

Explain why the Great Migration led to heightened racial tensions, restrictive laws, a rise in repressive organizations, and an increase in violence.

6.1.12.D.11.c

Explain why women, African Americans, Native Americans, Asian Americans, and other minority groups often expressed a strong sense of nationalism despite the discrimination they experienced.


 

Common Core National Standards

CCSS.ELA-Literacy in Social Studies.CCRA.SL.1
