Honoring the 80th Anniversary of D-Day

In honor of Yogi Berra’s D-Day service to his country, the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center will recognize the 80th Anniversary of the iconic World War Two battle with a tribute ceremony open to the general public in the Museum’s stadium-style theater. 

The program will feature a panel discussion about the significance of the D-Day invasion, as well as the role of Seaman Second Class Lawrence Peter Berra on that historic day. Participants will include Samuel J. Cox, (SES), RADM, USN (Ret.), the Director of Naval History and Heritage Command; Edward “Sonny” Masso, Rear Admiral, US Navy (Ret.); and Paul Stillwell, U.S. Naval Institute oral historian and editor of Naval History magazine. In addition, the Museum will recognize local WWII veteran Alger Stone, who landed on the beach of Normandy in September 1944 and served in Patton’s army throughout France and Germany.

Where: Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center, 8 Yogi Berra Drive, Little Falls, NJ (On the campus of Montclair State University.)
