Our programs satisfy New Jersey’s Department of Education’s commitment to the Amistad Law, the LGBT & Disabilities Law and the Diversity & Inclusion Law as defined below:


Amistad Law: N.J.S.A. 18A 52:16A-88 Every board of education shall incorporate the information regarding the contributions of African-Americans to our country in an appropriate place in the curriculum of elementary and secondary school students.
Discovering the Negro Leagues:  Students explore the Jim Crow Era, The Great Migration and African-American history in connection to baseball history.

Diversity and Inclusion Law: N.J.S.A. 18A:35-4.36a Each school district shall incorporate instruction on diversity and inclusion in an appropriate place in the curriculum of students in grades kindergarten through 12 as part of the district’s implementation of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards.
Gender Equity & Title IXStudents learn about the history of women and girls in sports, discrimination in sports and the history of Title IX.
Overwhelming Underdogs:  Students explore what it is to be an “underdog” via the topics of Immigration, Prejudice and Sports.

LGBT and Disabilities Law: N.J.S.A. 18A:35-4.35 A board of education shall include instruction on the political, economic, and social contributions of persons with disabilities and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people, in an appropriate place in the curriculum of middle school and high school students as part of the district’s implementation of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards.
Gender Equity & Title IX: Students learn about the history of women and girls in sports, discrimination in sports and the history of Title IX.
