Activity

Each student should read the handout entitled A Select Timeline of African American History.  After considering each entry, students should answer the questions that immediately follow the timeline. This pre-lesson activity will help students contextualize the growth and demise of the Negro Leagues, Jackie Robinson’s entrance into Major League Baseball and Hank Aaron’s overthrow of Babe Ruth’s home run record.
